Upcoming Nighttime Closures Planned on US 11 in Martinsburg
BURLINGTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Division of Highways advises motorists that upcoming nighttime closures are scheduled on US 11 in Martinsburg, Berkeley County, WV. These closures will begin Sunday, September 13 between the hours of7:00PM and 6:00AM, Sunday through Friday. These closures are necessary for a resurfacing project involving milling and paving. The project will be completed in three phases. Phase One: Work will begin on Queen Street at the intersection of Cloud Street and will end at the junction of Queen and King Street. Phase Two: Work will begin at the intersection of Queen Street on King Street and will end at the junction of King Street and Winchester Avenue. Phase Three: Work will begin at the intersection of King Street on Winchester Avenue and will end near the junction of Winchester Avenue and Sheridan Avenue. Milling operations will advance approximately four days ahead of paving operations, therefore some phases may overlap. The road will be closed in two block sections at a time and detour signs will be posted. Motorists are advised to travel with caution through the work zone and stay alert. The contractor anticipates the work will be completed in approximately two weeks. Exact schedule is weather dependent.
