Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators and Water Treatment Plant Operators Class I, II, III
The City of Martinsburg has openings for Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators and Water Plant Treatment Operator Class I (minimum wage $33,363), Operator Class II (minimum wage $34,531) and Operator Class III (minimum wage $36,991). Wage offer will be dependent on required certification level. Class III Plant Operator certification preferred but all qualified applications accepted.
Two (2) years of experience (Operator I) or three (3) years of experience (Operator II and Operator III) in a wastewater or water utility, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess and maintain the appropriate West Virginia Health Department Certifications and a valid driver license. Position monitors all wastewater and water plant equipment, collects samples and analyzes in accordance with local, state and Federal requirements. Gathers and tests wastewater and water samples for plant efficiency reports and records data. Operates, cleans and maintains all wastewater and water plant equipment. Works with SCADA and PLC systems for operation and control of various plant processes. Performs related duties as assigned.

UTILITY DEPARTMENT AND PUBLIC WORKS
The City of Martinsburg Utility Department and the City of Martinsburg Public Works Department are seeking candidates to fill Labor Positions in the Water, Sewer, Street and Sanitation divisions.
Candidate will perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled routine manual labor tasks. Water: Works with the installation and repair of water mains, services, hydrants and valves. Sewer: Assists with the maintenance and repair of mains and services. Street and Sanitation: Assists with sanitation collection, recycling, street, road and hardscapes maintenance and repair, including working with lawn maintenance, tree management and snow removal. Skill in knowledge and operation of various tools and equipment required. Performs other duties as assigned. Must be able to meet all physical requirements of the position outlined in the job descriptions, including working outdoors in all types of weather and in confined spaces and the ability to lift, perform extreme physical labor over long period of time.
Graduation from high school or GED required. Valid driver’s license and maintenance of valid license is required.

UTILITY DEPARTMENT WATER METER READER
The City of Martinsburg Utilities Department has a position available as a Water Meter Treatment Plant Meter Reader.
Education requirements are graduation from high school or GED equivalent. Must have knowledge of data entry and the ability to accurately read and record data from various types of meter dials and specialized equipment.
The ability to apply basic math skills is required, including the ability to perform and record math computations accurately and quickly. Must possess the ability to test, repair, replace and install water meters. This position also assists with water taps, main repairs and works with installation crews. Record keeping duties include tracking of repairs, stock parts, replacement meters and requisition for stock supplies.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver license. Work is largely outdoors. Applicant must be able to meet all physical requirements of the position.

Civil Service (Police and Fire)
