The City of Martinsburg (WV) is accepting applications for the position of Fire Chief. This is a full-time civilian administrative position under the direct supervision of the City Manager.

The Fire Chief performs technical administrative, supervisory and complex fire and emergency medical services (EMS) duties directing the full activities of the Martinsburg Fire Department.

FULL-TIME PUBLIC WORKS-LABORER
The City of Martinsburg has immediate openings for a full-time position as a Public Works- Laborer.
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent required for position. Duties include performing various manual labor tasks for street and sanitation operations, performing traffic control in City crew work areas and cleaning and maintaining City vehicles.
Position assists mechanics with shop duties, assists in City construction projects including digging drainage ditches, culvert maintenance, concrete work and repair of streets and roads. Duties include cutting grass, trimming and maintaining trees, and assisting in landscaping duties and brush removal. Loading and unloading of heavy material from trucks and/or vans is required.
Employee must be able to meet all physical requirements of the job including the ability to work outside, regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and regularly perform physical labor. Valid driver’s license required for position. Pay grade 7-$28,786 with excellent benefit package. FULL-TIME PLANNING DEPARTMENT SECRETARY
The City of Martinsburg has an immediate opening for a full-time position as a Planning Department Secretary. Minimum education requirements of high school graduation or GED equivalent with specialized course work in general office practices preferred. Successful candidate will perform clerical and administrative work in answering phones, receiving the public, providing customer assistance and processing data. Applicant will prepare agendas, with supporting material, for all boards and commission meetings and be required to attend three (3) evening meetings per month, including taking and transcribing meeting minutes. Duties also include scheduling appointments, composing and editing a variety of correspondence and researching property records. Excellent communication both verbally and written and demonstrated customer service skills are required. Skills must also include the ability to develop and maintain spreadsheets, manage data, and perform other duties as assigned. Salary is a Grade 9-$30,837 annually with excellent benefit package. Civil Service (Police and Fire)
