The City of Martinsburg Utility Department has an immediate opening for a full time Wastewater Collection System Crew Chief.

Graduation from high school or GED equivalent is required. A valid driver’s license (CDL license preferred) is required for the position with maintenance of the license and insurability mandatory to remain in this position. Ability to possess and maintain West Virginia Wastewater Collections System Operator Certification is required. Must meet all physical requirements of the position, including standing, lifting, physical labor and working in confined spaces.

The Wastewater Collection System Crew Chief performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the construction and maintenance of the sanitary sewer system.

Position assigns and/or supervises the work of other collection system crewmembers and equipment operators. Supervisory experience in similar work settings is required.

Candidate must possess considerable knowledge of equipment, material, facilities, methods and procedures used in utility construction, finishing and testing. Performs other duties as assigned assisting in all Utility Department projects and any joint projects with Public Works Department.

Salary pay grade 12-$34,531 dependent on experience with excellent benefit package. Job Description Wastewater Collection System Crew Chief



 The City of Martinsburg is accepting applications for the position of Full Time Police Dispatcher II. Shifts of 4PM-Midnight or Midnight-8AM will apply-no day shift available. High school diploma or GED equivalent with specialized course work in general office practices and two (2) years of increasingly responsible related experience, or any equivalent combination of related education and experience.

The successful applicant will monitor telephones and radio in the dispatch center, answer all incoming calls and ascertain the nature of the call, dispatch police vehicles for emergency responses, maintain a log on radio and telephone communications, input data into the computer system, and other related duties as required.  The successful applicant must be able to deal with the public and staff of the Police Department in a calm, rational and reasonable manner in often stressful situations. Must have teletype certification or be able to obtain teletype certification timely.
