Water & Sewer

The City of Martinsburg Water & Sewer Department operates a combined water & sanitary and storm sewer utility providing these services to the City of Martinsburg and areas outside the city’s corporate boundaries serving over six thousand customers and bulk water and sewer services to Berkeley County Public Service Districts.

 The Water & Sewer Department consists of a staff of twenty seven employees that operate two water filtration plants and one wastewater treatment facility while maintaining over two hundred miles of water and sewer mains along with various components that provide continuity service to our customers twenty four hours per day seven days a week.

The City of Martinsburg's Water & Sewer Department is regulated by the West Virginia Public Service Commission.

Source of Supply

The City of Martinsburg source of supply consists of two separate ground water sources providing raw water to their respective filtration plants.  The City of Martinsburg also maintains an alternate source of raw water at a nearby reservoir for a backup source of supply of raw water.
