Subdivisions
The Martinsburg Planning Commission is charged with review of Subdivision Applications to ensure compliance with regulations that help guide the development of a safer, healthier, more efficient and more attractive City. Each application for a subdivision is subject to a public hearing, after which the Planning Commission shall consider the request along with any comments and opinions expressed by Planning staff and during the public hearing. The Commission shall make a determination based on the merits of the application, and shall be guided by existing design standards, paying particular attention to arrangement, location and width of streets and their relation to the topography, water supply, sewage disposal, drainage, lot sizes and arrangements; the future development of adjoining lands not yet subdivided and the requirements of the Comprehensive Development Plan and Martinsburg Zoning Ordinance.
