Court is held every Wednesday and every 3rd Tuesday of the month.  Court is held in two sessions beginning at 8:30 am and at 1:30 pm. 

If you receive a citation, you will have an appearance date, which is located near the bottom of the citation, under "Violator's Responsibility."  

If you are arrested and arraigned by a Magistrate, you will be provided an appearance date. 

A court hearing date and time will be provided to anyone who wishes to contest a charge. 

Failure to appear may result in a capias. If you are unable to attend a scheduled court hearing and have a valid reason, it is the Court's discretion whether a continuance will be granted. 

Requests for continuance must be received by the court in writing in advance of the court date, good cause must be described.  If a continuance is granted by the judge, a notice of hearing will be mailed. Requests must be received within seven days of initial hearing. 

The docket is called by the Prosecutor at the beginning of each session. For identification purposes, please bring your Driver's License or State issued Photo ID.

Guests enter via security at the front entrance of the Martinsburg Police Department and Judicial Building.  Paid on-street and off-street parking is available adjacent to the Police Department.
